All-Stars to Train at NX Level

Suni The Wisconsin All-Stars will be training at NX Level in Waukesha this off season. The staff at NX Level has put together a strength and conditioning program that is geared towards baseball players that have the desire and ability to play at the next level. The program will consist of "CORE" strength training (back, hips and abdominal muscles), "AGILITY" training - helps an athlete apply basic speed to sport specific movements. NX level uses ladder drills with varied steps and movements, coupled with cone drills, to enhance coordination, foot speed and ability to function in open space. "SPEED" training moving and accelerating faster - is used to condition an athletes neuromuscular system to improve the firing patterns of the fast twitch muscle fibers.

The goal of every Wisconsin All-Stars is to get bigger and stronger this off season and to increase throwing velocity by 5 mph. Ted Willams (HOF) once said this "Baseball players are not made during the the season. They are made during the off season." How hard our players work in the off season will determine what level they will play at in college. Hard work always pays off . Every player that plays baseball for the All-Stars is dedicated to excellence this off season by working hard increasing strength and velocity.

For more information on NX Level off season strength and conditioning program for the "serious baseball player" contact Brad Arnett at 262-522-7888. NX Level is located W229 N1687 Westwood Drive, Waukesha WI 53186.

Update on Kyle Cody

Former Wisconsin All-Star Kyle Cody is having an awesome sophomore season for the Kentucky Wildcats. Kyle was hurt this year and missed some starts. Kentucky coach Gary Henderson said “We eased him back to action over the course of 12 relief appearances before he threw 4.1 shutout innings in his first SEC start against Georgia.” The hulking sophomore righthander then earned the win in his next start with 5.1 strong innings of work, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four. Cody worked at 90-91 mph in his previous game but in Wednesday start he showed more of the big velocity UK baseball coaching staff talked about this fall. His fastball sat at 90-93 and bumped 94-96, and his breaking ball showed promise, sometimes showing bigger break at 74-75 and landing for a strike, other times showing tighter spin and more power at 77-78.

“He’s back to what we thought he was going to do at the beginning of the year,” Kentucky coach Gary Henderson said. “I think that’s a shot of adrenaline for the kids, and the program. That’s the kind of outing that Kyle is capable of having for the team. I’m really happy for Kyle and all of us. It’s been quite the tip-toe getting him back. It’s just been very cautious, an inning at a time, don’t throw any breaking balls for six weeks.”

Kyle went to Chippewa Falls McDonell High School. Baseball America has projected Kyle Cody to be a potential 1st round draft pick in the MLB amateur draft when he graduates. He is that good. The All-Stars coaching staff is very proud of Kyle.
